Learning outcomes
The course address the methods and tools to "read, see and draw" the architectural space; the student attend practical sessions using different ways and techniques of architectural representation. The workshop deals with simple works on the themes of drawing an representation of architecture, the laboratory activity is coordinated with other disciplines in the areas: History of architecture and art ; Urban planning.

Program
Geometry and architecture. The methods of representation of the descriptive geometry and their use in the architectural sketch. Descrivere/comunicare the three-dimensional spatial configurations through plain figures. Relationships and analogies among the geometric and metric characters of the spatial forms and the corresponding images. The sketch as convention. Signs, codes and norms of the architectural sketch. Object, types and staircases of representation. The levels of close examination. The institutional forms of the architectural representation: the plant, the prospectus, her section and the three-dimensional sights. Object, contained, finality, organization and editing of the elaborate graphic. Representation and analysis graphics of a modern architectural organism. Manifold representation of an architectural organism. The knowledge of the architecture through the sketch: decomposition, schematizzazione volumetrica, recognition of elements and elementary geometries. Visual perception and sketch from the truth. The knowledge of the architecture through methodic of analytical observation and of action decostruttiva and ricostruttiva. Sign and image; visual perception, representations of the environment, of the city, of the architecture. Reproduction of the reality: the sketch from the truth; the sketch as language of the communication and as ”construction”. Scientificità of the representation and sketch as ”interpretation.”

Development of the examination
Students activity will be tested in the examination of the teaching which is entrusted with the management of the laboratory.
