Learning outcomes
The course develops the theme of the design and construction of buildings with load-bearing skeleton of reinforced concrete, steel and wood. The tutorials cover the final design of a single-family home construction techniques to achieve with these. In laboratory is developed the final design of a single-family home set at preliminary plan in the course of Architecture and Composition 1.

Program
The course deals with the design and construction methods of buildings with load-bearing skeleton of reinforced concrete, steel and wood. A project of a single-family house with concrete structure will be elaborated in practical excercises. In laboratory the final design the same single-family house will be studied by adopting a steel load bearing structure and a wooden structure. The lessons and the exercises are aimed at supplying the project elements and instruments: from the general plan to the final project, up to the design of the constructive details of the executive project.

Development of the examination
LEARNING EVALUATION METHODS
The evaluation method consists of three tests: - Written test (4/8 questions to be completed in one or two hours); - Oral discussion; - Presentation of technical details on a case study chosen by the student and agreed with the teacher. The project can also be done in groups, usually composed by 2-4 students. Even in this case, the discussion of the project is done individually. In the case of a negative result of a test, the student can repeat the test that failed, keeping the result reached in the other tests, only if within the same academic year.

LEARNING EVALUATION CRITERIA
The student must demonstrate, through the three abovementioned tests, to have understand the criteria and design procedures. The student must also know the basic information regarding the structural and functional aspects of the building.

Attribution of the final mark

FINAL MARK ALLOCATION CRITERIA
The vote will be attributed by combining the evaluation of the written test , oral test and technical details developed. The highest grade is achieved by demonstrating a thorough understanding of the course content and the ability to correctly present a project.
