The aim of the course is to provide the students with guide lines and analytical methods for choice, design and management of industrial plants
Program
Feasibility study of industrial plants. Choice of the product and of the production cycle. Analysis of the production and exercise costs. Evaluation of the industrial investments. Facility location problems. Systematic layout planning. Flow analysis and activity analysis. The relationship diagram. Space requirements and availability. Designing the layout. Group technology. Lines balancing. Project management techniques: Gant, PERT and CPM. Piping : fundamentals and components. Water systems piping. Fire protection systems. Steam systems piping. Compressed air piping systems. Industrial gas cleaning.

LEARNING MEASUREMENT CRITERIAFor each of the tests specified before it is assigned a score between zero and thirty. The overall grade, thirty, is given by the weighted average of the marks obtained in the previous tests.
FINAL MARK ALLOCATION CRITERIATo pass the exam, the student must achieve at least the sufficiency, equal to eighteen thirty, in each of the tests described above. Praise is given to students who, having done all the tests so correctly, have shown particular clarity in oral and in the preparation of written assignments
