Learning outcomes
The topics coverd by the course are: heat transfer; thermal fields and heat flux; heat exchangers; solar
collectors; thermodynamic systems and processes; heat machines and refrigerators; air-conditioning and
thermo-hygrometric confort; fundamentals of photometry; fundamentals of applied acoustics.
Program
Part I, Applied Thermodynamics: first thermodynamic principle, second thermodynamic principle, perfect gas, direct cycle, inverse cycle ,teaching laboratory.
Part II, Heat Transmission: introduction (systems of heat transmission), thermal conduction, thermal convection, thermal radiation, combined systems of heat transmission.
Part III, Thermal hygrometry in the human buildings: calculation of thermal requirement in human buildings, hygrometric questions in human buildings.
Part IV, Applied Acoustics: introduction (fundamental acoustic quantities, acoustic spectrum analysis, spectrum response of human hear and loudness, criterions of sound and noise valutation), propagation and transmission of sound wave, acoustic absorption and soundproofing, closed-field propagation.
Part V, Lighting Engineering: photometry, Lighting production and control systems, methods of calculation for inner lighting, day-lighting, teaching laboratory
Development of the examination
LEARNING EVALUATION METHODSOral
LEARNING EVALUATION CRITERIAIn order to pass the exam, the student must demonstrate an undertanding of the concepts expressed during the course.
LEARNING MEASUREMENT CRITERIAThe oral exam is assigned a mark between zero and thirty.
FINAL MARK ALLOCATION CRITERIAThe sutdent must obtain a mark of at least eighteen in order to pass the oral exam. In order to obtain full marks on the oral exam, the student must show a deep understanding of the concepts discussed during the exam. The distinction is reserved for students that have carried out the oral exam in a correct and complete manner with a particularly brilliant exposition of the arguments treated during the exam.
